29 North
Country living begins in the 29 North region of Charlottesville. This district is located in Albemarle County and benefits from the lower cost of living associated with the county. This being said, all of the amenities of Downtown Charlottesville are located just 15 minutes away. The region is named for its location along Route 29, which is a major roadway for Charlottesville. Living in 29 North puts residents in the northernmost area of Albemarle County and near all of the towns and conveniences of Northern Virginia and Washington D.C., as well. A gateway city, 29 North offers a short drive to the north and to the city, yet there is still plenty to do without leaving town.

Visible from both the neighborhoods and from the main roads, the mountains provide an unbeatable natural ambiance for the region. To complement the natural feel of the area, there are walking trails, parks and many outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy. One of the most popular places in 29 North for a scenic stroll is Forest Lakes Trails. There are trails at Chris Green Lake Park, though this is also a great destination for lake activities, such as fishing.

With over 30 retailers and restaurants in one location, Hollymead Town Center is the place to be. Here, big-name stores, such as Kohl's and PetSmart, meet local shops to create an interesting and diverse shopping experience.

Besides retail positions, there is an airport right in town that serves the region.
