Rio
Located on the cusp of the city and the county, Rio is an established area on the northern side of Charlottesville. This region is similar to Barracks for its booming commercialis1m; however, the shopping districts are slightly older. With this said, the development in the area is continuous, and there are a number of new shops, restaurants and more. Rio is one of the major arteries to Charlottesville, thanks to its situation right on Park Street. To help with the steady flow of traffic, a new parkway was established in Rio within the recent years.

Accessing the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville and the surrounding regions could not be easier from Rio. Route 29 is just minutes away from Rio, and as such, the suburbs, the country and even the city are nearby.
