Charlottesville - Rugby
Nearly overlapping the University area, the Rugby district is a highly established neighborhood in Charlottesville. The main road in the area, Rugby Road, runs right into University Avenue, the road on which the University of Virginia Campus is located. The close proximity - less than 1/2 a mile - makes the area convenient for those that seek the amenities of the college. Additionally, many of the doctors and medical staff at UVA hospital call the Rugby region home. This area features some of the oldest and most impressive homes in Charlottesville, and as such, boasts some of the highest price tags.

Interesting Architecture
The home styles in Rugby are vast, though they all have one thing in common: impressive maintenance. Brick Colonials meet Cape Cods, traditionals and even estate manors in Rugby. Throughout the district, the vast majority of the homes are older properties. The residences are situated close together; however, privacy is not compromised, thanks to the mature landscaping and tall trees surrounding each lot. Many of the houses are set back from the street with large front yards to complement the properties. Further to the south on Rugby Road, large fraternity- and sorority-owned houses dominate.

Accessibility
Perhaps one of the best things about Rugby is its walkability. There are sidewalks throughout the district, and this makes walking to the university or hospital campus a breeze. Further, football fans are within a few minutes walk of Scott Stadium. Dining options, bars and nighttime entertainment options in the region abound, as The Corner is located just across the street from the campus. Should residents desire the activity of Downtown Charlottesville, Route 29 is accessible from University Avenue.

Families in Rugby
For families living in Rugby, there are both public and private school options. Greenbrier Elementary School, Venable Elementary School, Walker Upper Elementary, Buford Middle School and Charlottesville High School are all within quick driving distance of the numerous neighborhoods that make up the Rugby area. With convenience and a traditional atmosphere, Rugby is a great place for all ages.
