  1. FRIDAYS AFTER 5 AT NTELOS WIRELESS PAVILLION – APRIL 15

Let’s face it – you aren’t a true “Charlottesvillian” if you don’t kick start your weekend with Fridays After 5. After a long winter, everyone’s favorite live concert series is just around the corner! 2016 marks the 29th year of free live music and fun in the heart of downtown C’ Ville. The initial concert schedule will be announced on April 4.

 

  1. STRAWBERRY SEASON AT CHILES ORCHARD – LATE APRIL/ EARLY MAY

Treat your taste buds, and head out to Chiles Orchard to celebrate Strawberry Season! Grab some cartons and handpick your selection of deliciously ripe strawberries. Follow Chiles Orchard on Facebook and Twitter for daily picking updates to plan your next visit.

 

  1. THURSDAY SUNSET SERIES AT CARTER MOUNTAIN – MAY 12

Carter Mountain has, undoubtedly, one of the best views overlooking Charlottesville, but you have yet to experience the true potential of its beauty until you’ve attended one of the Thursday Sunset Series. Grab a blanket or a few lawn chairs and enjoy some live music, hayrides, dinner, and refreshments. There is plenty of wine, wine slushies, and hard cider available to purchase. Admission is free!

 

  1. LIVE POLO MATCH AT KING FAMILY VINEYARDS – MAY 30

Beginning Memorial Day weekend, King Family Vineyards will be hosting polo matches every Sunday. Guests are welcome to tailgate around the field. Need a refill? Just flag down the golf cart circling the field during the match to purchase wine and bottled water!

 

  1. STARRY NIGHTS AT VERITAS VINEYARD – JUNE 11

Planning a romantic evening, family outing, or casual night out with friends? Starry Nights at Veritas Vineyard has a little something for everyone. On the second Saturday of every month starting June 11, the vineyard will transform into an outdoor concert venue. Bring a picnic or plan for a buffet at one of the tables. And of course, don’t forget to grab a bottle of Veritas’ finest!
